The first time I saw this, I thought that it was awesome. But lemme say why...

The overall atmosphere is soothing. Relaxing. Or a bit energizing because the impending sunrise suggests, well, day.
The left side needs... something more to balance with the right in my opinion. But I think that the darkness of the forest contrasts nicely with the Mt. Fuji's lightness in the left...
But this could also be minimalism, an art in its own right.

This takes my mind off from the tragedy that struck the very same country this picture was taken (although I'm not sure if that's good or not).
